In 1974, Nhek Penghuor went to the United States to study English and returned to Cambodia in 1975. Upon returning to Cambodia, [Nhek Penghuo]was sent to California to join AF organization, which was a rival of the revolution. [Nhek Penghuo]received a plan from AF to investigate the military situation in Cambodia, to find out about 82 soldiers coming into the country to see if they were killed or not, to observe the Chinese minority in Cambodia, to examine war ships and planes, to contact traitorous networks in Cambodia, and to discover whether Ieng Sary or Khieu Samphan was the leader in powe r. After joining and completing a course, trained by Pol Pot, [Penghuor]was frightened and ran away but was arrested by the people, and made a confession to Angkar.
