Summary / Abstract :
|
In 1968, Nop Soeun Chief of a grinding mill in the Northwest, [allegedly]became a CIA spy. In [Soeun]inspired people to distribute economic supplies to Phnom Penh soldiers. In 1975, [Soeun]set up a pl an to take over the Northwest Zone. [Soeun]then got in touch with Thais and In Tam in order to ask for food supplies and military assistance. In 1977, [Soeun]built up CIA forces and then burned factor ies, explosives warehouses and grinding mills, until on 27 June, 1977, [Nop Soeun]was arrested by Angkar.
