Summary / Abstract :
|
An Maong [allegedly]was a spy for First Lieutenant Pai Lin in order to spy on the Khmer Rouge. In 1970, he infiltrated the military in Unit 100, Region 1, and was admitted into the CIA by Heang. His a ssignment then was to build up spy forces in military line, and contact enemies's spy networks for them to drop bombs on liberated areas. After 1975, he encouraged people to desert the battle field, s ecretly shot combatants in the back in order to destroy the revolution's forces, and contacted troops (Lon Nol)to round up and evacuate people until he was arrested by Angkar on 18 June, 1977.
