Summary / Abstract :
|
In 1972, Nhaum Saren joined the revolution as a combatant in Region 13. In 1974, [Saren][allegedly]joined the CIA with an assignment to build up CIA forces, to destroy public property and to provoke c onflict in the units. [Saren]destroyed weapons, and gun-powder, burned people's houses and destroyed rice. During fighting, [Saren]also convinced commbatants to move out of hidden trenches, causing ma ny combatants to be killed by Lon Nol troops. In 1975, [Saren]was transferred by Angkar to Kampong Som where [Saren]drove ships causing damage in a collision, destroyed machinery, poured chemical acid onto cloth to damage it, and made a leak in a ferry so water spoiled equipment. In 1977, [Nhaum Sarem]was arrested by Angkar.
