In 1970, Huot Vat studied in grade 8 and later on abandoned his school and instead served as a boat servant. In May 1971, Vat worked as a militiaman in Pothe Ban sub-district. From 1972 to 1973, Vat was a soldier in Koh Thom district and a messenger in Ta Kat's unit. Vat worked in an intelligent unit and company of region 25, battalion 127 of region 25. From 1974 to 1975, Vat received Sokh's indoctrination to shoot in his own hand for purpose of being hospitalized and abused medical women sexually. In June 1975, Vat joined forces to assassinate cadre and destroy materials. The document bearing a written letter stated Vat was imprisoned temporarily.
ហួត វ៉ាត រៀនថ្នាក់ទី ៨នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ ក្រោយមកបានឈប់ទៅ ដើរស៊ីឈ្នួលចេវទូកដរ។ ខែ៥-១៩៧១ ធ្វើឈ្លបឃុំពោធិបាន។ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧២-៧៣ នៅយោធាស្រុកកោះធំ ក្នុងកងតាកាត ជានីរសា នៅកងស៊ើបការនិងនៅអនុសេនាធំ តំបន់ ២៥ វរសេនាតូច ១២៧ តំបន់ ២៥។ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៤-១៩៧៥ វ៉ាត បានទទួលការអប់រំពី ឈ្មោះសុខា ឱ្យបាញ់ដៃទៅដេកពេទ្យ ហើយរកចាប់រំលោភនារីពេទ្យ។ ខែ៦-១៩៧៥ ចូលរួមក្នុងផែនការសម្លាប់កម្មាភិបាលកំទេចសម្ភារៈ។ ឯកសារនេះមានចំណារថាដាក់គុកសិន។
