Summary / Abstract :
|
In 1968, Chey, a student at Kampong Cham college, [allegedly]joined the CIA and encouraged students in the college to hold demonstrations against the Khmer Rouge in the province. In 1970, [Chey]hid in the forest with the revolution, encouaraged people to flee to join enemies, allowed people to sell their agricultural produce in enemy zones, delayed fighting and sent messages to the enemies to drop bombs. In 1975, [Chey]arranged a plan to attack Kampong Cham in order to seize enough weapons and foodstuff in reserve for conquering the entire region. Additionally, [Chey]prepared to attack Kampong Thom and to move further towards Siem Reap, where communication with Thailand would be linked. [Chey]blew up a weapons warehouse in Kampong Cham. On October 4, 1977, [Chey]was arrested by Angkar.
