He used to work for the Democratic Party with Iev Koeus. In 1966 he went to Laos where he became an alleged Secret Agent for Laos and Vietnam. In 1978, he came to spy in Cambodia, estimating the number of Cambodian troops in Ratanakiri and Stung Treng and finding out strategic locations in an attempt to capture Stung Treng, Kratie and Ratanakiri.
សែស ទេន ធ្លាប់ធ្វើការនៅបក្សប្រជាធិបតេយ្យជាមួយ អៀវ កឿន។ នៅឆ្នាំ ១៩៦៦ គាត់បានទៅប្រទេសឡាវ ជាកន្លែងដែលគាត់បានក្លាយទៅជា ភ្នាក់ងារសម្ងាត់របស់ប្រទេសឡាវ និង ប្រទេសវៀតណាម។ នៅឆ្នាំ ១៩៧៨ គាត់បានមកធ្វើចារកិច្ចនៅក្នុងប្រទេសកម្ពុជា ធ្វើការប៉ាន់ ស្មាន់ពីចំនួនកងទ័ពថ្មើរជើងរបស់កម្ពុជា នៅក្នុងខេត្ដរតនគីរី និង ខេត្ដ ស្ទឹងត្រែង និង ធ្វើការស្វែងរកទីតាំងយុទ្ធសាស្ដ្រក្នុងបំណងប៉ងប៉ន ដើម្បីកាន់កាប់ខេត្ដស្ទឹងត្រែង ខេត្ដក្រចេះ និង ខេត្ដរតនគីរី។
