A source reported that some 4,000 Khmer Viet Cong Armed Forces, divided into 2 groups of 2,000 men each hid in Sangkat Samrong Thom, Kean Svay district and in Sangkat Prek Thmei, Kean Svay district, Kandal province.
ប្រភពបានផ្ដល់មកថា កាលពីថ្ងៃទី២៩ ខែមេសា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរយៀកប្រហែល៤,០០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធគ្រប់ដៃបាន ចែកគ្នាជា២ក្រុម។ មួយក្រុមៗមានគ្នា ២,០០០នាក់ បានមក បង្កប់ខ្លួនក្នុងសង្កាត់សំរោងធំ ស្រុកកៀនស្វាយ និងសង្កាត់ព្រែកថ្មី ស្រុកកៀនស្វាយ ខេត្ដកណ្ដាល។
