On May 24, 1971, about 300 Khmer Viet Cong armed forces came to set hidden shelters at VT 815-557 in Trea sub-district, Kandal Stung district of Kandal province. They intended to attack National Military Base in Kampong Kantuot and Takhmau.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី២៤ ឧសភា ១៩៧១ មានខ្មែរយៀកកុងប្រដាប់ដោយ អាវុធប្រហែល៣០០នាក់ បានចូលមកតាំងកន្លែងលាក់ខ្លួននៅត្រង់ ចំណុចវ៉េតេ ៨១៥-៥៥៧ ក្នុងឃុំទ្រា ស្រុកកណ្ដាលស្ទឹង ខេត្ដកណ្ដាល។ ពួកនេះមានគោលបំណងវាយប្រហារមូលដ្ឋានជាតិនៅ កំពង់កន្ទួត និងតាខ្មៅ។
