On January 15-17, 1971, North Yuon Viet Cong sent about 2345 troops to hide and prepare to attack in many places in Koh Sotin and Tbong Khmum district of Kampong Cham province. They intimidated the local people by saying that they sent troops in order to anquer the provincial town of Kampong Cham on the up coming Chinese and Vietnamese new year days.
ចាប់ពីថ្ងៃទី១៥-១៧ មករា ១៩៧១ ពួកវៀតកុងខាងជើងបានបញ្ជូន ទ័ពប្រហែល២៣៤៥នាក់ អោយមកបង្កប់ខ្លួនត្រៀមប្រយុទ្ធនៅកន្លែងជា ច្រើនក្នុងស្រុកកោះសូទិន និងស្រុកត្បូងឃ្មុំ ខេត្ដកំពង់ចាម។ ពួកវាបាន បំភិតបំភ័យអ្នកស្រុកថា ពួកវាបញ្ជូនទ័ពបន្ថែមនេះ គឺដើម្បីវាយប្រ ហារទីក្រុងកំពង់ចាម អោយបានក្នុងពេលចូលឆ្នាំចិន យួនខាងមុខនេះ។
