A source reported that on June 2, 1971, Viet Cong armed forces gradually came down from Samrong region of Kampong Thom and Chamkar Leu of Kampong Cham to mingle with local people in Sandek sub-district, Cheung Prey district of Kampong Cham and in Chrey Trei sub-district, Kampong Tralach district of Kampong Chhnang.
