On March 15, 1973, about 3 Battalions of Khmer-Yuon Viet Cong in black uniform with blue beret, equipped with weapons, including 9 of 82mm mortars, 6 of 60mm mortars and M-79, came to set up shelters along the outskirt of Takhmao provincial town. They told local people to dig trenches with the shape of letter " E ". The enemies intended to attack Takhmao provincial town.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១៥ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ យួនយៀកកុង និងខ្មែរយៀកកុង ចំនួនប្រហែល៣កងវរៈសេនាតូច ស្លៀកពាក់ខ្មៅពាក់មួកខៀវប្រដាប់ អាវុធ ជាពិសេសមានកាំភើ្លងត្បាល់ទំហំ៨២មម ចំនួន៩ដើម, កាំភើ្លង ត្បាល់ទំហំ៦០មម ចំនួន៦ដើម និងកាំភើ្លង៧៩ បានចូលមកតាំងជម្រក នៅតាមជាយក្រុងតាខ្មៅ។ ពួកខ្មាំងទាំងបានប្រាប់អ្នកស្រុកនៅទីនោះ អោយជីកលេណដ្ឋានការពារខ្លួនជារាងអក្សរ ៉អឺ ៉ ផង។ ពួកខ្មាំងមាន គោលបំណងប្រុងនឹងវាយប្រហារក្រុងតាខ្មៅ។
