On February 10, 1973, about 300 Khmer Viet Cong soldiers, under the command of Sao Saophal, in Unit 111 were divided into two groups to stay in villages as the following: The first group of 150 soldiers stayed at WT 109-089, in Sophy village called Thmei village and at WT 108-669, in Ket Chang, Die Et sub-district, Kien Svay district, Kandal province. The second group of 150 soldiers stayed between at WT 095-683 and WT 110-670 in Die Et sub-district, Kandal province. They attempted to attack National Army in Sre Ambel and Kean Svay district office.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី១០ ខែកុម្ភៈ ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរយៀកកុងចំនួនប្រហែល ៣០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់អាវុធគ្រប់ដៃក្នុងកងលេខ១១១ ក្រោមបញ្ជាឈ្មោះ សៅ សោផល បានចែកជាពីរក្រុមៈ ក្រុមទី១ មានគ្នាចំនួន១៥០នាក់ មកលាក់បង្កប់ខ្លួននៅភូមិសូភី ហៅភូមិថ្មី ឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ ១០៩-៦៨៩ និងភូមិកែតចង់ ឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ ១០៨-៦៦៩ ក្នុងឃុំដីឥដ្ឋ ស្រុកកៀន ស្វាយ ក្នុងគោលបំណងទប់ដំណើរកងទ័ពយើងកុំឱ្យទៅស្រែអំពិល។ ក្រុមទី២ មានគ្នា១៥០នាក់ មកលាក់ខ្លួននៅចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ ០៩៥-៦៨៣ មកទល់នឹងចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ ១១០-៦៧០ ក្នុងឃុំដីដ្ឋ ក្នុង បំណងវាយប្រហារសាលាស្រុកកៀនស្វាយ។
