On January 04, 1973, about 1,000 North Yuon Viet cong soldiers entered into Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province and divided into 5 groups. The first group of 200 soldiers stayed at VT 638-886 in Dak Peang village, Chan Sen sub-district, Samrong Tong district, Kampong Speu province.
The second group of 300 soldiers stayed at VT 002-875 to the west of Sto Veng village in Chan Sen sub-district, Samrong Tong district, 3 others moved toward the west. កាលពីថ្ងៃទី៤ ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ យៀកកុងយួនខាងជើងចំនួន ប្រហែល១,០០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់ដោយអាវុធគ្រប់ដៃចូលមកក្នុងស្រុក សំរោងទង ខេត្ដកំពង់សឺ្ព។ ពួកនេះបានចែកជា៥ក្រុម ដូចតទៅៈ - ក្រុមទី១ ខ្មាំងចំនួន២០០នាក់ មកស្នាក់នៅភូមិដាក់ពាង ត្រង់ ចំណុចវ៉េតេៈ ៦៣៨-៨៨៦ ក្នុងឃុំចន្ទ័សែន ស្រុកសំរោងទង ខេត្ដកំពង់សឺ្ព។ - ក្រុមទី២ ខ្មាំងចំនួន៣០០នាក់ មកស្នាក់នៅក្នុងព្រៃខាងលិចភូមិស្ដុក វែង វ៉េតេៈ ០០២-៨៧៥ ក្នុងឃុំចន្ទ័សែន ស្រុកសំរោងទង ហើយ៣ក្រុមទៀត បានធើ្វដំណើរទៅទិសខាងលិច។
