Approximately 50 Khmer Viet Cong under the command of Nem Nan, equipped with 2 M-79, PM-AC and AC hand guns, hided themselves at VT 488-557, Kdol village VT 483-542 to Prey Tum Peang village VT 483-551, Kraing Ambel sub-district, Samrong Tong district of Kampong Speu in an attempt to attack National Army who were about to start operation in these areas.
