On January 10, 1974, at 20:00 pm, 600 Khmer Communist soldiers in regiment 06 moved from VT 967-544 in Sa-Ang Sre village and set up shelters between at VT 935-548 and VT 957-597 along the edge of Stung Ang river. They attempted to destroy the National armed force bases along the National road 2 between Prek Ho and Prek Snam in shortly there after.
កាលពីថ្ងៃ១០-មករា-១៩៧៤ ម៉េាង២០ៈ០០ ខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដ ប្រហែល៦០០ នាក់ប្រដាប់អាវុធគ្រប់ដៃស្ថិតនៅក្នុងកងវរៈសេនាធំ លេខ០៦ បានធ្វើចលនាចេញពីស្អាងស្រែ ត្រង់ចំណុចវ៉េតេ ៩៦៧-៥៤៤ ចូលមកតាំងជម្រកស្នាក់នៅក្បែរមាត់ស្ទឹងអង្កចាប់ពីចំណុចវ៉េតេ ៩៣៥-៥៤៨ រហូតដល់វ៉េតេ ៩៥៧-៥៩៧។ ខ្មាំងខាងលើនេះមានគោល បំណងប្រុងវាយប្រហារកងទ័ពជាតិនៅតាម ផ្លូវជាតិលេខ២ ចាប់ពីព្រែកហូររហូតដល់ព្រែកស្នំក្នុងពេលឆាប់ៗ ខាងមុខនេះ។
