On March 31, 1973, about 3,000 to 4,000 Khmer Viet Cong soldiers under the command of Sien San, Sam Ret Sorn, and Nha, entered between WT 090-650, in Kampong Svay sub-district and Chong Prek Pol village at WT 170-650, in Banteay Dek sub-district. They deployed 60mm, 75mm and 82mm heavy artilleries at WT 124-651, 138-641, 143-643, 148-647 and 170-650, in Kampong Svay sub-district.
កាលពីថ្ងៃទី៣១ ខែមីនា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ ខ្មែរយៀកកុងចំនួនពី៣០០០-៤០០០នាក់ ប្រដាប់អាវុធគ្រប់ដៃក្រោមបញ្ជាឈ្មោះ សៀន សាន, សំរិត សន និង ញ៉ា មកនៅចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ០៩០-៦៥០ ក្នុងឃុំ កំពង់ស្វាយ មកទល់នឹងភូមិចុងព្រែកប៉ុល ចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ១៧០-៦៥០ ក្នុងឃុំបន្ទាយដែក ហើយខ្មាំងបានតាំងកាំភ្លើងធំទំហំ៦០មម ៧៥មម និង៨២មម ត្រង់ចំណុចឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ១២៤-៦៥១, ១៣៨-៦៤១, ១៤៣-៦៤៣, ១៤៨-៦៤៧ និងឌុបដឺវ៉េតេៈ១៧០-៦៥០ ក្នុងឃុំកំពង់ស្វាយ។
