On July 14, 1974, the Khmer Communist Yun Chantha, a combatant in Unit 123 which was changed into Unit 223, defected to the National Army in Battalion 138, sub-military operation region, Kampong Speu province, bringing along one AR-15 gun and two hand grenades.
