On April 4, 1974, around 100 Khmer Communists in mixed uniforms in Regiment 192, Region 304, set up shelters in Sanlong villages, Sanlong sub-district, Vihear Sour province. Then, they divided into 3 groups, each group consisted of 300 soldiers. The first group of 300 soldiers transported ammunition from Vihear Sour province toward Tep Montrei village by 5 Ox-cards. The second group of 300 soldiers transported one 74 mm mortars, one non-rejected heavy artillery, one 60mm mortar and ammunition which were carried by 4 ox-carts towards To Tom La village in Prek Ampil sub-district, Vihear Sour province. The third group of 300 soldiers moved toward Veal Sam Nap village in Sithor district. They attempted to destroy the National Armed Forces Bases in Prek Tamakk, Prek Vaong and Beung Khnao Rokar which were in the east of Mekong river bank in shortly there after.
ថ្ងៃទី៤ មេសា ១៩៧៤ ខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដចំនួនប្រហែល១,០០០នាក់ ក្នុងកងវរៈសេនាធំលេខ១៩២ តំបន់លេខ៣០៤ ស្លៀកពាក់ចម្រុះ ប្រដាប់អាវុធ បានចូលមកតាំងជម្រកនៅភូមិសន្លង់ ឃុំសន្លង់ និងក្នុងឃុំ វិហារសួគ៌។ ខ្មាំងទាំងនេះបានចែកជា៣ក្រុម ១ក្រុមៗមានគ្នា៣០០ នាក់ បានរាយគ្នាដូចតទៅ ក្រុមទី១ចេញពីវិហារសួគ៌ មកនៅភូមិទេព មន្ដ្រី ដោយចាំយកគ្រាប់រំសេវចំនួន៥រទេះ។ ក្រុមទី២ ចូលមកភូមិទទំល ក្នុងឃុំព្រែកអំពិល ដោយដឹកមកជាមួយនូវកាណុង៧៤ម.ម ឥតធាក់ថយមួយដើម កាំភ្លើងត្បាល់ទំហំ៦០ម.ម និងគ្រាប់ចំនួន ៤រទេះ។ ក្រុមទី៣ មកកាន់វាលសំណាប់ ឃុំស៊ីធរ។ គោលបំណង ពួកនេះ គឺវាយទីតាំងទ័ពជាតិខាងកើតទនេ្លមេគង្គ ពិសេសព្រែកតាមាក់ ព្រែកថោង បឹងខ្នោររការ ខាងមុខនេះ។
