Mao Saroeun was a combatant in Division 2, Northwest Zone. According to this document, he joined C.I.A in 1970 to oppose the Khmer Rouge by encouraging people and combatants to join C.I.A, destroying Angkar's property and materials and allegedly associating with In Tam to capture Au Chreou and Region 3. He was arrested by Angkar on 11 August, 1977.
ម៉ៅ សារឿន ជាយុទ្ធជនកងពលធំ២ នៅភូមិភាគពាយព្យ។ ដោយ យោងទៅតាមឯកសារនេះ គាត់បានចូលរួមជាមួយ សេ អ៊ី អា នៅឆ្នាំ ១៩៧០ ដើម្បីប្រឆាំងនឹងខ្មែរក្រហមដោយលើកទឹកចិត្ដប្រជាជន និង យុទ្ធជនទៅចូលរួមជាមួយ សេ អ៊ី អា, ដោយបំផ្លាញទ្រព្យសម្បត្ដិ និង សម្ភារៈរបស់អង្គការ ហើយបាននិយាយពីការរួមគ្នាជាមួយ អ៊ិន តាំ ដើម្បីកាន់កាប់អូរជ្រៅ និង តំបន់ ៣។ គាត់បានចាប់ខ្លួនដោយអង្គការ នៅថ្ងៃទី១១ ខែសីហា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៧។
