In 1949, Cambodia and France reached an agreement in which Cambodia was entitled to have a representative in foreign countries, but the rep would be under the management and control of French embassy. After the treaty took place in 1953, Nung Kim Ny, was assigned by Cambodia government to open Cambodia embassy in USA.
នៅឆ្នាំ១៩៤៩ សិទិ្ធសញ្ញាមួយរវាងបារាំង និងកម្ពុជាបានព្រម ព្រៀងគ្នា ថាកម្ពុជាអាចមានអ្នកតំណាងរបស់ខ្លួននៅឯបរទេសបាន តែត្រូវនៅក្រោម ស្ថានទូតរបស់បារាំង។ ក្រោយពីសិទិ្ធសញ្ញាឆ្នាំ១៩៥៣ នុង គីមនីត្រូវបានរដ្ឋាភិបាលខ្មែរ បញ្ជូនទៅសហរដ្ឋអាមេរិច រៀបចំបើកស្ថានទូតកម្ពុជានៅទីនោះ។
