While the masses of refugees and urban poor were starving, other Cambodiana were living a life of unprecedented Luxury. For Cambodian Society under the regime of the GKR was afficted with a militray and avilian elite which had acquired a taste for class Eurropean lifestyle and which was now able to indulge those lifestyle as never as never before.
គណៈពេលដែលប្រជាជន និងជនភៀសខ្លួនជាច្រើនទទួលរងការអត់ឃ្លាន មានប្រជាជនមួយចំនួន រស់នៅសភាពសំបូរសប្បាយ ដែលមិនធ្លាប់ មានពីមុនមក។ សម្រាប់សង្គមកម្ពុជានៅក្រោមរដ្ឋាភិបាលរបស់ខ្មែរ ក្រហមត្រូវបានដុតរោលដោយយោធា និងវីរៈជនអាក្រក់ ដែលធ្វើឱ្យ ប្រជាជនកម្ពុជាបានយល់ពីជីវិតរស់នៅរបស់ពួគអឺរ៉ុប និងអាច បណ្ដោយខ្លួនទៅតាមខ្សែជីវិត ដែលមិនធ្លាប់មានពីមុន។
