Ung Lai San, train worker at Koh Tauch sub-district, Kampot province, confessed that he knew Saroeun at train hospital in Phnom Penh. After, Chhum clearly understood Saroeun's feeling that he had disillusioned with the revolution; in September 1976, Chhum persuade him to betray [the revolution]. In October 1976, Saroeun received a plan from Nuon Bun Lim to expand hidden network.
អ៊ុង ឡៃសាន កម្មកររទេះភ្លើង សង្កាត់កោះតូច កំពតបានឆ្លើយថា វាទើបតែស្គាល់សារឿន នៅមន្ទីរពេទ្យរទេះភ្លើង ភ្នំពេញទេ។ នៅខែ៩ ១៩៧៦ ឈុំបានសួរស្ទង់ចិត្ដគំនិត សារឿន ដឹងថា សារឿន មិនពេញចិត្ដបដិវត្ដ ឈុំក៏ឆក់ឱកាសអប់រំ សារឿន អោយក្បត់បាន។ នៅខែ១០ ១៩៧៦ សារឿន ចូលរួមទទួល ផែនការពី នួន ប៊ុនលឹម អោយប្រមូលកម្លាំង។
