In last September, 1973, an unknown Khmer Communist in A3, B3, K97, Unit 45, Region 23, defected to the National Army. He confessed that the Unit had been renamed Regional Unit K97, in Region 23 , by a formal resolution from high ranking Khmer Communist.
កាលពីចុងខែកញ្ញា ឆ្នាំ១៩៧៣ មានខ្មែរកុម្មុយនិស្ដម្នាក់ មិនស្គាល់ មុខបានរត់មកសារភាពចំពោះមុខ ហើយព្រមទាំងបានរាយការណ៍មកថា កងអង្គភាពរបស់ខ្លួន ឪក៣, ខ៣, គ៩៧, វរៈ៤៥, តំបន់២៣ បាន ផ្លាស់ប្ដូរទៅជាកងទ័ពតំបន់ គ៩៧, វរៈ៤៥ វិញបនា្ទប់ពីមានសេចកី្ដ សមេ្រចជាផ្លូវការមួយពីថ្នាក់លើរបស់ខ្មាំង។
