Sum Sokh have 5 children, but lost two of her children in Lun Nol regime and Pol Pot regime. Her husband was supected working as a high ranking person and related with the Royal family. So, he was sent to kill by the Khmer Rouge in 1977. She also lost her younger sibling and other relatives. She was forced to live separately from her family. In 1976, she asked Angkar to let her visit her children, however, they did not allow her to come and wanted to kill her. Fortunately, she was helped from other women saying that," if she died no one one would look after her children". She find it is hard for her to concentrate on her work these days. She also have trouble with sleeping. She feel that she will have no future. She said that, it depends on the government to start the tribunal.
ស៊ុម សុខមានកូន៥នាក់ ប៉ុនែ្ដស្លាប់ចំនួន២នាក់ មួយក្នុងជំនាន់លុន ណុល និងមួយទៀតនៅក្នុងជំនាន់ប៉ុល ពត។ ប្ដីរបស់គាត់ជាប់សង្ស័យថាធើ្វការសក្ដ័៣ ហើយមានជាប់ខែ្មរសេ្ដច ដូចេ្នះគាត់ត្រូវពួកខែ្មរក្រហមសម្លាប់នៅក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧៧។ គាត់បានបាត់បង់ប្អូនបង្កើតគាត់ម្នាក់និងបងប្អូនផេ្សងទៀត។ គាត់ត្រូវបានគេបង្ខំអោយនៅដាច់ដោយឡែកពីក្រុមគ្រួសារ។ នៅក្នុងឆ្នាំ១៩៧៦គាត់សុំអង្គការទៅលេងកូនរបស់គាត់ប៉ុនែ្ដពួកគេមិនព្រម បែរជាចង់សម្លាប់គាត់ថែមទៀត។ មានម្ដាយកេ្មងៗដទៃទៀតជួយនិយាយអោយគាត់រួចជីវិត ពោលពាក្យថា«បើសិនជាស៊ុម សុខស្លាប់គ្មានអ្នកណានៅមើលកូនគាត់ទៀតទេ»។ គាត់មានការលំបាកក្នុងការផ្ចង់គំនិតធើ្វការងារប្រចាំថៃ្ង និងមានការលំបាកក្នុងការទទួលទានដំណេក។ គាត់មានអារម្មណ៍ថាគាត់ហាក់ដូចជាគ្មានអនាគតទៅថៃ្ងមុខ។ ចំណែកឯរឿងការបង្កើតតុលាការកាត់ទោសមេដឹកនាំខែ្មរក្រហមគឺសេ្រចតែលើការសំរេចនៃរាជរដÃបាភិបាលទៅចុះ។
