A pretty detailed account was given by western press agencies of the secret pull-out from Phnom Penh under siege of 150 American (embassy staffers and military advisors) and a hundred native agents of the US, some foreign correspondents and resident. The operation was kept secret up to the last moment, the small hours of April 12, choppers, some 360 marines stealthily landed in a spot near the US Embassy and a cover of military planes and neval forces were deployed.
