The US and southeast Asia, the communists have overrun provinces in South Vienam and penetrated to the outskirts of Phnom Penh in Cambodia. This is no guerrilla war. It is a conventional battle where new American weapons, developed and perfected in recent years, might prove decisive in countering communist assaults. why are they not being used? One reason is that the American people are completely disillusioned by entanglements in Southeast Asia. Many people think that the campaigns in South Vienam and Cambodia are civil wars. with the Americans interfering on the side of regimes which are corrupt and unpopular.
