Summary / Abstract :

The French government expressed alarm today over the fate of approximately 610 Frenchmen and persons of other nationalities believed to be somewhere between Phnom Penh and the Thai border. Two days after they supposedly left the French Embassy in the Cambodian capital in trucks bound for the Thai border at Aranyaprathet, there still was no word of them. "It is a totally abnormal situation". Foreign Minister Jean Sau Vagnargues said.
