The foreign ministry of the republic of South Vietnam on August 9 vehemently condemned the Nguyen Van Thieu administration for conducting air strikes against many heavily populated area in Tay Ninh Binh Phuoc provinces, northwest and north of Saigon respectively. A spokeman for the RSVN foreign ministy said; "Following a series of criminal action in Loc Ninh provincial capital and at Bu Dop and Lo Go on August 6, 1974 , The Nguyen Van Thieu junta, On orders of the United States, on August 7, 1974 , sent aircraft to make vanton bombing on densely-populated quarter of the provincial capital of Loc Ninh, killing or injuring dozen of people among them 12 pupils, and completely destroying the An Phu primary school.
