Summary / Abstract :
|
Saigon, South Vietnam, June 8, 1972-long-rang ground reconnaissance patrols in North Vietnam and Communist-held area of Laos and Cambodia are being resumed under United States direction after having been suspended three and a half year ago, informed sources said today. The highly hazardous penetration patrols in North Vietnam were recently reinstituted, with ethnic Cambodians born in South Vietnam being used for the job, together with picked South Vietnamese. Such covert operations were halted in October, 1968, because of the suspension of the American bombing of North Vietnam.
