Summary / Abstract :
|
Internal divisions in Cambodia seem to have become and even greater to the country's future than the external pressures that plunged Cambodia into war. Cambodian no longer are divided simply between those who sopport the monarchy and those who side with the republicans. Both in Phnom Penh and among the insurgent, serious factionalism is destoying the chances for peace-chance that only a few months ago seemed considerable. The war has gone beyond the stage of being a tragedy imposed by outssiders, it has turned into a self-sustaining exercise in fratricide.
