Summary / Abstract :
|
Singapore's role in war-torn Cambodia is militarily non existent, politically quiet, but economically active. The ties with Cambodia live up to the image of the island republic as unattached, busy, and prosperous. Since the beginnig of the war two years ago, Singapore's exports to Cambodia have leapt as the wounded country turned away from many of its previous suppliers (such as Communist Countries) for political reasons. In the first eleven months of 1971 Singapore exported US$4.8 million to Cambodia.
