Summary / Abstract :
|
Heavy fighting broke out Southeast of Phnom Penh today while troops to the Norht-West prepared for an expected night attack. The government called in more troops from the provinces to defend the capital at all costs. Field reports said that dizens of sampans loaded with Khmer Rouge moved up the Mekong River under cover of a rainstorm and attacked government defenders 12 miles Southeast of the city centre.
