Summary / Abstract :

The rout of Cambodian forces north of their capital despite strong American aerial support and diversionary maneuvers by the Soulth Vietnamese offers fresh evidende of the terrible vulnerability of president Nixon's Indochina policy. The American-South Vietnamese attacks on communist sanctuaries along Cambodia border eightion months ago were supposed to Seal of South Vietnames open western flank and ease the burden on South Vietnames force as American troops withdrew under the Vietnamiszation program. In stead of securing the borders, the 1970 incursion into formerly neutral Cambodian merely succeede in permanently widening the conflict "Vietnamizing" Cambodia itself.
