In Cambodia, government troops for the first time in about a year seized control of the town of Siem Reap-Kandal, south of Phnom Penh, Military sources reported. Siem Reap-Kandal was last to insurgents during the big dry season offensive early last year and was a headquarters for rebels attacking Phnom Penh last month. Intelligence reports said that the insurgents were withdrawing to the south.
