Under the oppressive regimes of the imperialists, old and new colonialists and the traitorous clique led by Lon Nol, our male and female youths were forced into a state of complete confusion in very field. In Phnom Penh and some towns under temporary control of the traitorous Lon Nol clique, especially before liberation, some of our male and female youths live in a state of complete darness. Some of them become corrupt, taking to theft or picking pockets. Others were so confused by the U.S imperialists that they lost all sense of the national pride or even human nature (p.5).
