Communist-led Khmer Rouge insurgents yesterday fought their way to the western outskirts of Phnom Penh, cutting the fourmile road between the Cambodian capital and Pochentong airport. The further deterioration in the position of Cambodian government forces came as the president of neighbouring South Vietnam, Nguyen Van Thieu, swore in new war cabinet.
