Summary / Abstract :
In Laos, on the Boloven Plateaux, some 200 km South of Road 9, the Laos PLA fought back encroachments by Vietiane troops and Thai mercinaries with very heavy adverse losses. The enemy's most grievous set backs in this sector happened from March 8 to 10 in Nam Luc region at eastern edge of the plateau: a battalion wiped out and two other badly battered, the whole region was thus completely liberated. Farther west, in the lower basin of the Mekon, another Vientiane battalion was cut to pieces on March 17 near Khnong Sedone Provincial capital.
