Our 1976 rice production was much higher than the previous year. Now, our people throughout the country have sufficient rice for their own needs, some surplus and enough seed for two growing seasons... Beside the quantity earmarked for local consumption and reserve, there is still a surplus of some 150,000 tons of rice. This surplus can be exported to boring profits to the people-workers, peasants and state...so that we can buy machinary and factories and other means of production.
