Summary / Abstract :
The Nixon administration had to stop the bombing of Cambodia on August 15, as a result of its growing military and political setbacks and increasing congressiona and popular pressure for an end to all US involvement in Indochina. This of course, does not indicate any change in the Cambodian policy of the Nixon administration. The inefficary of the bombing had long been public knowledlge. AP, recieving it on August 15. Said the massive bombing conducted by US air forces in Indochina for eight years and a half had failed to produce any types of the peere the US was seeking, and for all the 170,000 tons of bombs dumped on the Khmer insurgents in the last 6 months the US could could not impose a ceasefire and the future of the US-backed government in Phnom Penh remained gloomy.
