Phnom Penh, Cambodia, September 8-Angered by an acute shortage of rice, residents of Phnom Penh rioted today, looting nearly every food market in the city. At least one merchant, a Chinese, was killed by gunshots as a crowd attacked his rice store on the Cambodian capital's Nheru Boulevard. Gunshots were frequently heard throughout the city today, including a burst marchine-gun fire near the United States Embassy. P1
