Predictably, prince Norodom Sihanouk has rejected Cambodian president Lon Nol's offer nagotiations that would lead to a gouvernment of compromise and concession from both side in the conflict. GRUNK (the Royal Government of National Union of Cambodia) insists on the total abdication of the Lon Nol regime and will have no truck with the " traitors " who ousted the prince. Both side recognise that there is no hope of an early military end to a conflict that has settled into a war of attrition.
