Summary / Abstract :
|
There recent demonstrations have been staged at the United Nations to express solidarity with Anti-imperialist struggles being waged in Asia. On October 21 over 150 people gathered to demand that the Lon Nol government, which holds the Cambodian seat at the UN, be expelled and replaced by the Royal Government of National Union of Cambodia (GRUNC). The Action was organized by the Khmer (Cambodian) Residents in the U.S as the demonstrator rallied in the bitting cold, speeches were delivered by Yori (Mary) Kochiyama of Asian Americans for Action, Sokhom Hing of the Khmer Residents and Irwin Silber of the Guardian.
