Despite the current economic lag in war-inflated Cambodia, banks have experienced handsome growth in the past twelve months. They tripled their profit margin, expanded into previously non-banked provinces, and welcomed a third commericial bank in the capital, Phnom Penh. This success rests on a large new foreign exchange grant frant from the multinational Exchange Support Fund (ESF) and prudent anti-inflation measures.
