Bun Sophal, 29, was born in Prey Voar village, Pean Rong sub-district, Prey Veng district, Prey Veng province. Sophal was a chief of political unit of company 25, battalion 113, and joined the army in 1970 at company 13, Eastern Zone. In 1972, Sakhan led Sophal to serve for the Free Khmer movement. In August 1975, Sophan assigned Sophal to infiltrate into air forces unit 502 in preparation for overthrowing Phnom Penh in July 1976.
ឈ្មោះប៊ុន សុផល អាយុ ២៩ឆ្នាំ កើតនៅភូមិព្រៃវ័រ ឃុំពានរោង ស្រុកព្រៃវែង ខេត្ដព្រៃវែង មានតួនាទីជាប្រធាននយោបាយ អនុសេនាធំ ២៥ វរសេនាតូច ១១៣ ចូលកងទ័ពនៅឆ្នាំ១៩៧០ នៅអង្គភាពអនុសេនាធំ ១៣ ភូមិភាគបូព៌ាដល់ឆ្នាំ ១៩៧២ សាខន បានដឹកនាំ សុផលឱ្យបំរើសកម្មភាពខ្មែរសេរី ។ នៅខែ៨-១៩៧៥ សុផានបានចាត់តាំងឱ្យសុផលទៅបង្កប់ខ្លួន នៅក្នុងអង្គភាពអាកាស ៥០២ ដើម្បីចាំធ្វើសកម្មភាពវាយ សង្គ្រប់ភ្នំពេញនៅខែ៧-១៩៧៦។
