Phnom Penh radio today confirmed the resignation of Prince Norodom Sihanouk and replacement as Cambodian head of state by Mr. Khieu Samphan, the deputy prime minister and defence minister. A statement issued by Mr. Hu Nim, the Minister of Information, said that Prince Sihanouk had make on April 2 his wish to retire "after 30 years of service to the Cambodian Fartherland".
