Once again, the United State was tying to save a city with an airlift. And once again, American had a chance to display their unsurpassed mastery of military mechanics. Every 30 minuts last week a big U.S. cargo plane rumbled onto the parking apron at Phnom Penh Pochentong airfield. Under the watchful eye of a sport-shirted American colonel with a walkie-talkie, sweeting GI's and Cambodian scrambled the American effort was a matter of too much, too late.
