April 17 was the first anniversary of the National Independence Day of Democratic Kampuchea. Pich Cheang, charge d'Affaires as interim of the Embassy of Democratic Kampuchea in Peking, and his wife gave a reception that day in warm celebration of the occasion. Yeh Chien-Ying, Vice-chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Carty of China and vice-chairman of the Military Commission of the C.P.C Central Committee; Chi Teng-Kuei, Member of the Political Bereau of the C.P.C Central Committee and Vice-premier of the State Council; and Wu Teh, Member of the Political Bereau of the C.P.C Central Committee and Vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, were invited to attend.
