The setting is a fashionable Honolulu home instead of a palace in Phnom Penh, but the ideas that Lon Nol espouses are unchanged from the days when he was president of Cambodia. In an interview last weekend, Lon Nol defended his record as Cambodia's leader during five years of war and bemoaned what he perceives as the West's growing disindination to fight communism. The former marshal, 63, said he is not working now and lives "like on ordinary citizen." He would not discuss how he supports himselt and the 17 family members and relatives who live with him.
