On 31st December 1977 solemn ceremony to mark the start of the building of the An Bien new economic area in kien Giang province was aganized in Dong Hung village. More than 2,000 assault youths of general unit No. 1 and nearly 1,000 labourers from the 1st, 5th, 6th and 11th precincts of Ho Chi Minh city.
